Oral surgery care close to home, with your dental plan.

For over 30 years, Lake County families have trusted us with their oral surgery care. We want your visit to be simple, including the part about cost. We check your benefits before your consultation, so you know what to expect before you arrive.

Insurance plans we accept

Lake County Oral Surgery is in-network with the following plans, effective 10/1/2026:

We also accept the Careington discount plan. Discount plans aren’t insurance, but they can lower what you pay for care with us.

Don’t see your plan? Call us at (847) 623-2830. Many patients can still use their out-of-network benefits with us, and we’re happy to check what your plan covers.

Plan participation can change. Please confirm your coverage with our team when you schedule.

How we handle your benefits

  1. Your dentist refers you, or you call us directly. You don’t always need a referral. We’ll let you know if your plan requires one.
  2. We verify your benefits. Prior to your scheduled appointment, our team contacts your insurance company to confirm your coverage.
  3. We will walk you through what to expect. After your consultation, and the surgeon confirms your treatment plan, we’ll walk you through your estimated coverage and any out-of-pocket costs.

What to bring to your consultation

  • Your dental insurance card (and medical insurance card, if you have one)
  • A photo ID
  • Your referral form or X-rays from your dentist, if you have them
  • A list of your current medications

Financing and payment options

We accept cash and all major credit cards. For costs your insurance doesn’t cover, we offer financing through Cherry and Care Credit, with monthly payment plans for qualified patients. Many patients use it for dental implants, full-arch (All-on-4) treatment, or their deductible.

You can also use your HSA or FSA to pay for oral surgery.

Use your benefits before they reset

Most dental plans reset their annual maximum on January 1, and unused benefits don’t carry over. If your dentist has recommended oral surgery, scheduling before the end of the year may help you make the most of this year’s coverage. Call (847) 623-2830 and we’ll check your remaining benefits.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral?

Not always. Some plans require a referral from your dentist, and some don’t. We’ll check for you when you call.

Does insurance cover wisdom teeth removal?

Most dental plans cover a portion of wisdom teeth removal. Coverage depends on your plan, your deductible, and your remaining annual maximum. We verify all of this before your visit.

Does insurance cover dental implants?

Many dental plans cover part of implant treatment, such as extractions, bone grafting, or the implant itself, up to your annual maximum. We’ll apply your benefits and walk you through financing for the rest.

Is IV sedation covered?

Some plans cover sedation for certain procedures. We’ll let you know what your plan includes before your surgery.

What if my plan changes during treatment?

Let us know right away. We’ll re-verify your benefits and update your estimate.
