Guardian PPO vs. Guardian managed dental plans
Guardian offers PPO dental plans and managed dental care (DHMO) plans, and they work differently. We’re in-network with Guardian’s dental PPO plans. If you have a Guardian managed dental plan, you may need a referral from your assigned dentist, and care outside the plan’s network may not be covered. Check your member ID card for the plan type, or call us and we’ll look it up.
How your Guardian dental benefits typically apply to oral surgery
Most Guardian dental PPO plans cover a portion of oral surgery, such as extractions and wisdom teeth removal, after your deductible and up to your annual maximum. Some Guardian plans have waiting periods before major services are covered, especially if your coverage is new. Implant and sedation coverage varies by plan. We verify all of this within one business day and share an estimate before your consultation.
